This year, 2008, Dr. Larry Hartung and his wife, Debbie, are celebrating 25 years in North Eastham. They are a “Mom & Pop” practice, where Dr. Hartung and his wife, take care of you from first visit, exam, frame and lens selection, to dispensing. The Practice specializes in general Optometry, contact lenses, pediatric and geriatric care. Dr. Hartung has a great working relationship with Ophthalmology for referrals, when needed, for cataract surgery, retinal evaluation, lid surgery, and glaucoma, to name a few.

The office is easily accessible with plenty of parking.

Dr. Hartung graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1971, with a BA in Psychology, and graduated from Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, in 1975. Following graduation, he spent 8 years active duty in the US Navy, serving at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, the Naval Regional Medical Center, Naples, Italy, and at the Naval Test Pilot training facility at Patuxent River, MD, where he was the Chief of Service at the Eye Clinic. He stayed in the Naval Reserve, serving at NAS S. Weymouth, attaining the rank of Commander, and serving 2 years as the Commanding Officer of NAVMED 0191.

Dr. Hartung married Deborah Rydle(St.Mary’s College @ Notre Dame, IN) in 1972. They are the parents of two children and grandparents to 6.
