Dr. Arthur Baker

Practice Specialties: Primary eye care services and contact lenses for all ages.

Dr. Baker grew up in Falmouth, MA and graduated from Lawrence High School. His pre-med courses were taken at Tufts University. He then attended and graduated cum-laude from the New England College of Optometry where he received the Joseph J. Scanlon award for outstanding efficiency in optometric clinic. Following graduation Dr. Baker served in the U.S Air Force as an optometrist in Libya, Greece, Italy and Washington D.C.

Always wanting to return to Falmouth, Dr. Baker purchased the practice of Dr. Robert Canning in 1970. The office was relocated in 1978 to its current location and expanded in 1982. It was that same year that Dr. Baker was recognized by the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists as outstanding optometrist of the year. Dr. Baker has also served as chairperson of the Cape Cod District of the MSO for 3 years and is currently its treasurer.

Dr. Baker married his wife Mary in 1969, and she has been his office manager since 1973.

Dr. Baker is a member of the American Optometric Association, Massachusetts Society of Optometry, Cape Cod district of the MSO and the Contact Lens Section of the AOA.

In his spare time he enjoys his sailboat, gardening and landscaping, reading and traveling.
